Equatorpictures is a cooperative of independent filmmakers and visual artists dedicated to producing and post-producing unique and visually outstanding movies. This implies the following categories: documentary, reportage, music video and short film.
Equatorpictures was founded in 2004 by Knud Brix, Kristian Djurhuus and Maximilian Westphal.
The founders met at the Danish School of Journalism and shared the common passion of combining documentaries, and films with ambitious journalism, and visual curiosity.
In 2006, Christian Esquerre joined EquatorPictures. Christian supported the team with his experiences and know how in editing and directing.
The core objective is to produce quality documentaries and reportages in a way that encourages the audience to review their image about ongoing matters, the developing world, and crisis areas. The concept secures a high level of causality.
